The Power To Inspire –(In – Spirit)

To inspire, means internally inspired, which is a connection to your spirit within. It’s a feeling of life force being breathed into you, its absolute Truth on a deep level which creates feelings of joy, bliss, enthusiasm, excitement, immense passion, and feelings of being energized. You know what I mean; you have had many moments of being inspired.

In the case of the October 8, very unfortunate sweat lodge incident in Sedona, Arizona, where three people died and a dozen more were hospitalized, some of the people involved spoke out about being fearful and ashamed, the opposite of being In-spirit.

What can we learn from this? Why is this in consciousness for us to look at? I am compelled to share my thoughts about this story in the hopes that if there is any situation in your life small or large, that you need to take a look at, you can feel empowered to take the necessary action steps in a positive direction for you- one that feels good which is aligned with your heart. And, if you are in a leadership role, this is a great reminder to always be in reverence, humility and sincerity.

In the recent sweat lodge tragedy, important native American traditional ceremonies were violated. The sweat lodge events are derived from very sacred native American traditions. I share with you here a statement from Chief Arvol Looking Horse: “I would like to clarify that this lodge and many others, are not our ceremonial way of life, because of the way they are being conducted. What has happened in the news with the make shift sauna called the sweat lodge is not our ceremonial way of life! When you do ceremony – you can not have money on your mind. We deal with the pure sincere energy to create healing that comes from everyone in that circle of ceremony. The heart and mind must be connected. When you involve money, it changes the energy of healing. The person wants to get what they paid for; the Spirit Grandfathers will not be there, our way of life is now being exploited! There are seven sacred rites to prepare and finish the ceremonies. The values of conduct are very strict in any of these ceremonies, because we work with spirit”

We need to have reverence for other culture’s rituals, and not grab a little here and there and add our two cents and then put a hefty fee and big life changing promises in it.

Participants who spoke out about their experience in the sweat lodge, expressed they were ashamed and fearful, not In-Spirit or inspired, just the opposite. According to Beverley Bunn, a participant inside the sweat lodge, said, “People were not physically forced to stay inside but highly encouraged. It was all about mind over matter, you’re stronger than your body.” Looking back, she said, “it’s easy to see how so many people were overcome. No one was well-hydrated, the sweat lodge was poorly ventilated, no safety tips were provided and appropriate medical care wasn’t available.”

According to Shawn Bowen, a counselor for teenagers arrived on site during all of the chaos at the sweat lodge. She helped a woman who had just exited the sweat lodge. This woman told her that she was afraid to get up and leave the sweat lodge. And, then there was a young boy who told Shawn that he was ashamed because he did get up and leave.

Let this be a wakeup call–giving our power away to others- caring more about how they feel about us, than what is going on inside our own bodies. If you are uncomfortable in any situation with a teacher, or anyone in authority, be wary, especially of fear based tactics. If you feel “ashamed” because you cared for yourself, something is wrong with the teachings. I don’t care who the person of authority is – if you feel ashamed, afraid, uncomfortable and fearful, please take action and remove yourself.

The qualities of a good leader exhibits reverence, humility and sincerity. With Healthy teachings -you are inspired and guided through stories, techniques, positive intentions, exercises and information on how TO TRUST YOURSELF, trust your inner voice, trust your sensations and your body, AND ACT ACCORDINGLY TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. You are commended for taking action that honors what you need to do in that moment that is healthy and considered self-care for you. You are inspired and encouraged to be inner guided to follow your own insight. This is how people build trust to follow their own intuition.

This is very important, if we can learn a couple of things from this offal tragedy, it’s to not be afraid of failing or looking bad in another person’s eyes. And, that you are empowered to say, “No” if you are not comfortable in any way- physically, emotionally and spiritually. And, to always be humble and respect other people’s insight and traditions.

My heart felt prayers go out to everyone involved!

Exercise: Sit quiet, close your eyes, relax, invite in unconditional love, your higher wisdom and breathe for a couple of minutes. Ask yourself these questions:
What do you put up with in your life because you want someone to like you? How does this make you feel? Are you doing this out of fear? What would it look like if you felt abundant? What can you do to feel better? And, who are putting on a pedestal?

On Page 58-59 in my book Smile Across Your Heart: The Process of Building Self-Love it lists actions steps on how to begin your day, and see the world in an uplifting way.

If you have any questions, or you are interested in a coaching session, please email me at Lauriem@SmileAcrossYourHeart.com.
I work with clients on a regular basis to help them learn how to define their feelings, process them in a healthy way, and decipher the best way to verbalize. Healthy Communication is an art, and this leads to better personal and business relationships.

Every Stone Being Unturned

We are witnessing divine orchestration at play. This is a time in the world in which many people are going through some kind of small awakening. The human species is evolving in leaps and bounds. Every inner stone and pebble is being moved, and we are left with what is underneath – a fear, a worry, a past hurt, a belief system, a perspective that has been buried and doesn’t serve our highest good. It’s time to face the uncomfortable emotions and trust that they are there to help us grow. And, the stones and pebbles would not be moved if you couldn’t handle what is underneath them.

As you are witnessing before you very eyes, this is a time of Truth, which is precisely why we are hearing about many scandals in the news and most recently the scandal with David Letterman. And, we will continue to hear and learn about many more untruths. Things must come up to the surface, to be “exposed” in order for there to be a change. And, we were all granted free will; we all choose how we flow through our life circumstances. (We choose our attitude, we choose to see it as doom and gloom or trust we are learning something and we choose to live connected to love and forgiveness)

So, it’s time to see what is being “exposed” within each of us. Look underneath your stones and pebbles. Try to exhibit an attitude of faith, knowing that you are capable of handling this. You know this is in divine order. And, it is helping you get very clear on “who you are”, “what ignites your heart”, “how you want to live your life”, “what is acceptable to you”, “how you choose to express yourself”, “what type of people you want in your life”. People are in different stages in this big earth awakening– some people are losing jobs, losing homes, losing money, divorcing, experiencing health issues, relationships ending and some people are setting new foundations.

These extremely uncomfortable situations are shaking the stones and pebbles inside us. And, they are meant to.

You ask, “why are we going through all this and where are we going?” To raise our frequency (which means a higher level of love and light), to embrace and accept a part of us we denied or dissconnected from. We must confront our inner Truth. We must learn who we are and become our own best friend. We must learn about unconditional love, faith in divine orchestration versus fear. We must have more reverence for the earth, the environment, for our neighbors, and for each other. The only way to do this is to understand that every thing and everyone is connected energetically, and Truth is unconditional love. We must understand that people and situations are there to help us look inside of us and discern our own insecurities, like a mirror. And, each one of us chose to be here on earth right now at this special time. Your unique frequency is exactly where you are meant to be right now.

We are learning to be more in our hearts (versus ego) for ourselves and for others. We are all becoming more balanced individuals- with masculine and feminine energy. As we grow, we are becoming more in tune with our inner guidance, learning how to trust our own intuition and allow that to be our guide. We are becoming more inner lead versus followers.

We are also learning about equality. Equality and reverence for all living things. We are learning to live in a new energy vibration of oneness, peace for all, and unity. We are leaving the old “fear” mentality and choosing to be in the new lighter frequency. And, this is where you are headed.

Are you wondering why your product, company or services is not selling so well right now? It’s not necessarily anything that you are doing wrong. Have patience. People have a lot on their plates right now. They are focused on healing, growing, and learning, discerning, cleaning out, preparing, and setting up new foundations. Trust, be patient, and stay close to your intuition. Say, “I have the knowing that things behind the scenes are being orchestrated for me.” It’s imperative to sit quiet everyday and meditate.

I offer my book Smile Across Your Heart, The Process of Building Self Love. It’s filled with visualization techniques and exercises– all to help you find that inner peace inside you.

Hire me for a Life Coaching session! Coaching sessions are done over the telephone or Skype. I welcome the opportunity to work with you!

Whole Body Healing– Visualization

Choose a comfortable place inside or outside your home and lie down and relax. Say, “I’m creating a sacred space for my healing visualization. All distracting thoughts and energies are band from my area. I connect my brain with the highest frequency of unconditional love.”

Breathe in white violet light from God (the formula of unconditional love, peace, Truth, beauty and healing), and imagine this flowing
through you from the top of your head through your feet and into the earth. Relax. Focus on your breathing for a few minutes.

Say, “I ask and intend to remove any congestion that may be blocking me. I ask and intend to release all emotions that don’t serve my highest good. I ask and intend to bring my body into perfect health and harmony for my highest good. I breathe in perfect health for my body, spirit and mind. I TRUST MY ABILITIES. I TRUST MY LIFE PATH, I TRUST MY BODY, I LOVE MY BODY. I TRUST MYSELF.”

Place your hand on each chakra, starting at the top of your head, and say, “I draw in Infinite gratitude, healing and love into my body. Move your hand down to your forehead and repeat this statement, next is your throat, heart, upper belly, and lower belly.

Now stretch your arms out like you are holding a gigantic ball, and say, “I draw infinite love, gratitude and healing into my energy field, healing the energy all around me.” Hold the knowing that your body is cleansed and filled with the formula from above.

I hope this experience helps you! Email me any questions!

Preventative Care, Balanced Healthy Habits by Laurie Martin

The intention of this article is to highlight what I believe is our fundamental foundation for creating health and inner peace, which are synonymous– Preventative care. In my opinion, Preventative living needs more attention.

We are 100% responsible for our well being, and that means recognizing that all parts of us needs equal care—our body, spirit, and mind. We must create a plan that creates harmony within us. This means we may branch out and explore different ways of eating than we have been accustomed to growing up in our families. So, how do we take care of our physical, emotional and spiritual self in a balanced way? First and foremost by: Living Your Truth. We must be aligned with our truth in all ways to be as balanced and healthy as possible. There are many people who live very connected to spirit and ignore the physical aspect of themselves, and vice versa, there are many people who eat well but don’t find time to heal their emotions, and then there are many people in between who do a little in each area. All parts are equally important.
1. Mind care: Emotional healing
2. Physical exercise, Proper nutrition, Natural living
3. Spiritual connection, Humanitarian

Lets begin with our values (our higher truths), these act as our spiritual foundation for the way we breathe through life. First, what are you values? What are your top ten non negotiable things in your life that mean the most to you? For example: green living and being environmentally savvy may be important to you, organic eating, yoga, mother’s against drug driving, honesty, connection to spirit, or maybe cardio exercise. Take a look at your list. Are you living your list in all ways? If your spirit is hurting, than that is a sign you are not. If you are at complete peace, than halleluiah!

Living according to our values creates personal integrity. We feel good when we are living in a way that honors our spiritual truths. When we are not honoring our integrity, our spirit will not feel good- even if we are eating really nutritiously, but we fail to listen and follow in the direction of our heart- our well being can suffer. In what area of your life do you not feel good in? When we are not feeling balanced, we may have symptoms such as: depression, disease, stress, emotional conflict, anxiousness, and any physical ailment, insomnia.

To live a vibrant life filled with joy, health and happiness we need to create a life that honors all areas equally.

Mind care: Emotional practice
In this section of mind care, there are several aspects to consider: our emotional balance, energy balance and brain chemistry balance. A self-growth practice includes living life aware of your emotions, attachments, personalization’s. It begins with owning that we are 100% responsible for our thoughts, actions, words, attitude, perceptions and beliefs. We are responsible for learning how to process our emotions such as: releasing anger, past hurts, critical thinking, and learning how to flow through our life challenges with the most grace, joy and ease. Every time we are angry, hurt, insecure, traumatized, judgmental or critical this in an opportunity for going inward and explore. The more you go inward— you trust yourself and you become inner directed. With an inner journey, you are able to think outside the box, and learn what is good for you, what is for your life path, what is the meaning behind things from a higher perspective and what is Divine Truth and take action in that direction with clarity and focus. You are able to release, forgive and be your divine essence.

You have heard the statements, “Like attracts like,” or “everything has a cause and effect.” Dr. Emoto, the author of The Hidden Messages in Water, has proven through his ground breaking photographs that each thought and word has an effect in the energy around us. He has created one of the only camera’s that photographed water crystallizations. Dr. Emoto says, “Water exposed to “Thank you” formed beautiful hexagon crystals, but water exposed to the word “Fool” produced crystals similar to the water exposed to heavy-metal music, malformed and fragments. Further experimenting showed that water exposed to positive expressions like “Let’s do it!” created attractive, well –formed crystals, but that water exposed to negative expressions like “Do it!” barely formed any crystals at all. The vibration of good words has a positive effect on our world, whereas the vibration from negative words has the power to destroy.”
Donna Eden, author of Energy Medicine says, “An imprint of every important or emotionally significant event you have experienced is recorded in your chakra energy. When your energies are vibrant, so is your body.” Donna is a teacher of energy balance and I highly recommend her books. She recommends that, “people recognize their aches and pains as an energy imbalance.” Her book is filled with many energy techniques that foster health and healing.
Another aspect to consider is our brain-body connection. Dr. Eric Braverman sheds light on this in his book, The Edge Effect. This book “reveals the dramatic impact that proper brain nourishment can have on the quality of our lives. His key to longevity and well-being is balancing the brain’s four important neurotransmitters.”
At times, to change the way we have lived our whole lives, without much support, forces us to dig deep, and muster this inner courage be the paver of the path for others to follow. You learn to go through life situations with more grace and fluidity than struggle, hardship and fear. You learn to love yourself and love others.

Physical: Nutrition, Exercise & environment
As you are increasing your vibration, you have more self love; you love your whole body more. To create a harmonic balance between your spiritual body, emotional body and physical body, you organically desire more knowledge and insight on the type of foods that will bring your physical body vibration up to your emotional and spiritual vibration. You are drawn to learn about medicinal foods for the body, and eating smarter. You have a bigger appreciation for your body, earth, nature, and plants – how interconnective everything is –on a deep level; therefore you are only interested in giving your body the highest nutrient content available. Learning about foods that heal becomes a priority, versus foods that create indigestion, acid reflux, colitis, diabetes, depression, asthma, skin rashes and other diseases. With this deep understanding, you redefine how you spend your money– allocating a higher value on nutrition versus materialistic things or aesthetic services. I have heard this comment from several people, “doesn’t it cost more to eat healthy?” My response is, “You either pay now or pay later.” Meaning, you pay later with ailments, suffering, and increased medical bills.

If you’re wondering if you are eating the smartest way possible for you, you can view the latest movies on health & food, from my blog http://smileacrossyourheart.com/blog/, look at the top three links: Food Matters, Fresh, and The Beautiful Truth.

The authors of The China Study, T. Colin Campbell and Thomas Campbell say, “These findings demonstrate that a good diet is the most powerful weapon we have against disease and sickness.”
In The World Peace Diet, Will Tuttle, PH.D, “We don’t seem to realize that our economy would be far healthier if we switched to eating plant based meals.”

Over 400 years ago, in the 16th century, Luigi Cornaro wrote the book, How to Live to 100 Years, and he lived to 102, at the age of 35 he was told by doctors that if he didn’t change his course of eating, he was going to die. The author said, “I gave over the use of meats and wines as did not suit me, and chose those which by experience I found agreed well with me, taking only as much as I could easily digest, having strict regard to quantity as well as quality; and contrived matters so as never to cloy my stomach with eating or drinking and always rose from the table with a disposition to eat and drink more.”

We can choose ‘live’ food or ‘dead’ food for our cells. Dead food is such things as white bread and living food is an apple, green smoothies or salad. It’s just that simple. Cooked foods destroy both enzymes and vitamins, and raw foods, juices or smoothies- whole green vegetables and fruits give the body many enzymes, minerals and vitamins. Eating raw whole foods does not tax the system —spending many hours digesting and breaking down the food source. You will find there are categories of food groups such as: vegetarians, vegans, raw foodists, fruitarians, omnivores and now a new group called e.a.r.t.h. I dabble between the worlds of vegetarian/vegan/raw foodist and e.a.r.t.h.

The quality of the food is important too. Has it been sprayed with chemicals— toxic pesticides? Has it been transported for a week around the country or is it fresh from your local farm? Who are you supporting? Are you supporting your local organic market or farmers? Chemicals in our environment have proven to be harmful to our physical bodies. Do you use chemicals in your cleaning products or environmentally safe products? What about your hair and cosmetic products? An article on the Organic Consumer Association’s website written by Francesca Lyman, quoting “Rudel, M.S., a senior scientist with the research organization Silent Spring Institute, a non-profit research organization that studies links between the environment and women’s health. “We think the cancer establishment should be spending more money investigating the role of carcinogenic chemicals in everyday products and exposures, to build a knowledge base,” says Rudel. She faults organizations such as the American Cancer Society for focusing too much attention on treatment, to the detriment of prevention. “They need to be paying more attention to the 80,000 chemicals in use today, most of which haven’t been tested for their health effects.”

It’s never too late to change your habits. According to the book The Gerson Therapy, thousands of people have had disease reversal. And, changing your eating habits doesn’t have to be scary. You can create delicious gourmet healthy recipes that will bring you the same enjoyment. There are many qualified trained professionals that can assist you.

Physical movement & weight bearing:
The body needs to move. Movement helps eliminate toxins, strengthens and increases your flexibility, keeps your joints and fascia lubricated, releases stress, and assists with body elimination. Movement moves energy through the body. Weight bearing exercises keeps your muscles and bones strong and healthy. Cardiovascular exercises are also good to relieve stress. This must be part of your regime.

The American Heart Association says, “Regular aerobic physical activity increases your fitness level and capacity for exercise. It also plays a role in both primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease.”

Spirit: Faith, connection, trust, Truth, nature, humanitarian

Our spirit is happy and vibrant when we are living and being an expression of our natural essence. When we living life disconnected to our spirit or contrary to allowing our spirit to thrive and express our true essence, our spirit is hurting and this causes disharmony. For example, if someone stays in a marriage for many years living in frustration, disappointment and feels trapped, and they believe that they have no recourse, or no way out, their spirit may be suffering, and their continual emotional discomfort, which is energy, can create a physiological disruption in the body, which alters the body’s chemistry, and can lead to some sort of disease.

Research has proven that individuals are happier and live longer lives when feeling connected to their life path, to a cause, to humanity, to others and when performing selfless service.

If we are living with a strong sense of faith, then we are most likely a positive person, believing in the concept of abundance. That means, if something goes wrong in our life, we take a deep breath, and say, “Okay, there must be a better place for my energy, there are many more opportunities for me to share my light. I trust new friends are on the horizon, I know my romantic partner exists, and There’s something for me to learn here.”

Prayer, relaxation, breathing exercise, journaling, chanting, and meditation techniques are very useful to stay connected to the divine, your intuition and yourself.

Take Your Power Back! Live healthy and happy. Create a body, spirit and mind individualized plan with your medical healthcare professional which is based on your personality, body makeup, brain chemistry and current medications. It’s important that you create a plan that is aligned with your values, make it joyful and take action. Choose extracurricular activities, environments, reading material, friendships, and careers that support your interests and spark inspiration and positivity.

Intentional Prayer: “I ask and intend to create the best body, spirit, mind balanced healthy habit plan for me. I ask for help to believe that I’m capable of this. I ask to stay open to receive information. I draw to me the information, people, and knowledge that are for my highest good for my balanced health. Please help me have the determination, trust and inspiration to live daily in a balanced, joyful and healthy way. Thank you!”

Inspired Moments Connected to Truth

My temperature heats up, my excitement level heightens, I feel passionate and excited, time flies – I’m open to divine flow, it feels like “truth”, no doubts, it feels like I’m channeling information and the flood gates are open. I’m so focused on what I’m hearing. The intensity of the heightened sensation is so strong that my body breaks out in goose bumps covering my arms and pushing hair follicles out of my shaved legs.

This is what inspired moments feels like to me when I’m living life awake. Not all of my awakened moments are this dramatic; many are subtle bringing clarity and life into focus. Living life consciously increases our opportunities to learn and grow. And, you too can learn to recognize these everyday occurrences.

Why do I want to be aware of these moments? Living your inspired moments awake is reassurance that you are connecting to your truth. And you are not alone, there is a bigger divine orchestration and force that is helping you, guiding you and loving you and you don’t have to learn through painful experiences when you are living awake and learning. These awakened moments are part of your guidance system. Noticing them increases our faith, trust and confidence in yourself and your life path.

They are confirmation that you are hearing truth; that you are on your divine path, you understand something with more clarity and depth; you have increased your consciousness and frequency by learning and growing from these experiences.

I feel these goose bumps when someone is speaking their truth and I can sense they’re spot on, or when I’m speaking, meditating or writing, and I’m connected to a stream of consciousness flowing through me.

Write to me and tell me what it’s like for you to have inspired moment. Do you get goose bumps too?

7 Steps For Relationship Success!

He said, “I miss you” and told me I’m special, beautiful and he enjoys being with me. I was happy in his company. He was very handsome; he was a Dentist with good goals and aspirations. I looked forward to his texts, emails and phone calls. He gave me just enough attention and niceties to think he was a good guy and interested in me as I was in him. A couple of months went by, and I noticed he rarely mentioned my daughter. He only asked about her one time, but I filed that away in a folder in the back of my mind.

He took pictures of me, and I told him not to share them with anyone. He told me he showed the picture to one friend.

This story is from a lovely, intelligent, and beautiful client of mine whom I will call Karen. Karen later told me she found out that he had emailed her picture to fifteen different friends, and he had told people they were destined to breakup because of her baggage (her child). Karen ended her relationship immediately.

The point of sharing this story is to highlight several things that can occur while we are dating. We don’t always get enough information before jumping in with both feet and getting emotionally and physically involved. We ignore red flags. Red flags are things we observe and don’t feel good about. We may be so entrenched in the relationship that we want to see the best in people, so we let things go, and don’t ask enough questions. We may be afraid to rock the boat, afraid of the title of being “a nag” or putting “pressure” on him/her—afraid of rejection. We may still have left over residue from a past relationship that is hindering our judgment.

Maybe we are too focused on the goal of getting married instead of being in the moment. If we are fearful, afraid that time is running out, whether it’s pressure from family or our own, we may settle for less than we deserve. We are not valuing ourselves, we are not trusting divine orchestration, fearful that we won’t find another person, and we accept behavior and settle.

We attract into our life the energy of who we are at that time. Observe what you believe around relationships. Your most dominant beliefs will manifest- the good and bad. Here are some healthy beliefs: “I believe my next relationship is going to flow really easily!” “I know this person exists, and I’m excited to have him/her in my life.”

Are you asking enough of the right questions to really get to know a potential relationship candidate? We don’t necessary ask the most pertinent questions. Our focus may be too centered on how “he or she” feels about us, wondering things such as “When am I going to see him/her next? I wonder if he/she loves me and wants a committed relationship”. These are normal questions. But, stop for a minute and see if you have enough information to decipher if this person matches up with your values. It’s also very important to be clear within yourself about your own values. Are you clear on your OWN relationship values? Who are you?

Processing Through Life Challenges

Darkness was strangling me. I was inside a cocoon of fear. I tried to think good thoughts and write down positive affirmations, but the web was just too thick to escape. It had been a full year since I resigned after fifteen years working in corporate America. I had left to pursue my dream of coaching, speaking, teaching yoga, and writing. I was passionate about helping people to love themselves. During that year I had a journey of getting in touch with my own heart. I had put myself under enormous pressure to succeed, to figure out my destiny. I also had big hopes of finding my soul mate. I had a boatload of fear about not knowing my future or how to make it all happen.

Those of you who have gone through a life transition understand the questions: “How am I going to support myself?” “What exactly am I going to be doing?” I didn’t trust life enough; I didn’t trust myself enough. I thought I was the one in control of my destiny. I put walls of fear around myself. I was spiraling downward in a desperate state, with no idea what to do. Feeling as though I was falling apart, I didn’t want to be alone anymore. I went to a holistic medical doctor to have blood tests to make sure I was physically healthy—I was. When, with deep sadness, I said to the doctor, “I don’t understand what is happening to me,” she asked me, “Have you ever heard the term ‘nervous breakdown’?” I looked at her and replied, “This is a nervous breakdown?” Not having experienced one before, I found the words terribly serious and frightening.

I began to see clearly that it was my perception of my life that had driven me into the frantic state I had found myself in. And in such a state of despair, I wasn’t sleeping well, so my mind and body felt exhausted all the time, while my nervous system was in overdrive.
My transformation began through my awareness of my behavior and of the way I perceived my life. And as my vision of myself began changing, I stopped worrying about the future and started to love myself more and appreciate my daily journey. I began to have an inner knowing that I would be okay. I was taking a deep journey into my own heart!

This event occurred years ago, and I can honestly say, I’m blessed to have had that experience in my life. It really taught me about living in the moment, trusting life, having faith and self-love.

Challenging situations in our life are like little mirrors reflecting back to us areas that we are not at full peace with in our lives. It’s within the questions themselves that are the gifts. Uncovering the answers to those questions, allows for healing, allows for us to declare to the universe through our intentions what is acceptable, what we need to let go of, what we need to accept and make peace with. And, you can do this.

Since you are reading this, you are most likely seeking support, and I want you to know that you are not alone. And, if you feel that you are in a dark place right now, and you can’t see the light, I understand, I was in a dark place too. I know how scary it can be. I promise you, the light is there, and I hold this knowing for you!
Here are several steps to take for processing challenges:
Give yourself some time to go through these steps, and use very loving language and internal dialogue:

1. Decide that you will not allow an illness or situation to take your light away from you anymore- you will not take on the title of victim to a disease or any other life challenge. You are not the disease; it’s a situation you are processing through. Decide that you will not live in fear. You are much more than this current or past situation. You are made of pure light, and you have the ability to heal.
Say out loud, “I intend to be in my power and decipher why this situation occurred. I intend to see the gifts this situation brought to me. I intend to see how this situation was a mirror showing me where I do not value myself. I intend to learn from this and value myself. I intend to be me and allow my light to shine. I choose to be healed from this challenge. I intend to love that part of me that needs it most right now.”
Decide that you are going to make lemonade out of the lemons. You are not going to be the lemon, you are the lemonade!
2. Meditate daily: Sit or lie quietly and relax. “I ask and intend to connect with the frequency of creator source.” Visualize this frequency of love, healing, peace, joy coming into you. “I ask and intend to breathe this into every cell of my body. “My intention is to heal, seek the truth of what needs to heal, and find out what my body needs from me?”
Allow yourself time to process your feelings. You may want to write them down, talk to a good friend or hire a reputable person like a psychologist, counselor or certified life coach.
3. When you are ready, sit quiet, go within and ask yourself questions, such as: What am I disappointed about in my life? What issues in my past have I not made peace with yet? Are there any unhealthy relationships in my life?
4. Who do I need to forgive? Have I fully accepted the challenge? Do I need to release feelings of shame or blame?
5. Try doing the energy technique called Emotional Freedom Technique. If you need help, I’m available for telephone coaching services to help you learn EFT and process the challenge.
6. Embrace and love all parts of you, and live fully in the moment. Say, “I love and embrace all parts of myself, I am proud of who I am today.”
7. Are you ready to be grateful for the challenge? Can you see how it may have helped you be stronger within yourself? Has it helped you open your heart? Connect with others? Go in a new direction? Do something you never thought you were capable of? Learn new information and help others?

Lemonade!

Her facebook page was hacked into from a thief in London. She was locked out of her own face book page. The thieves were able to type in a message on her facebook wall saying, “I NEED HELP FROM A GOOD FRIEND,” and then the thief began Instant Messaging anyone online with a well practiced story. Through Instant Messaging (IMing), the real person’s picture pops up with a typed message.

As you know, it’s not about the actual situation that occurs; it’s what’s behind the story and how we show up in life. To explore “why” this happened, and what it’s teaching me, I needed to go within and see what energy I was creating- what feelings and needs I was generating. What was this situation mirroring back to me? What was it showing me I had inside? How did I participate in creating this situation?

My mind was swirling back to that crucial split second moment —the moment I went from questioning her motives to deciding that I’m going to help her. I ask myself, “Why did I help her? Why did I give my money to help a stranger in need get home from London?”
I thought, “How can I turn away? She said she would pay me back. She doesn’t have anyone else, what if that was me? She said she was in shock and her hand hurt. I can’t ignore her, I have to be responsible, and she sounded so desperate and scared. I have to help her get on a flight home. My heart went out to her. “I have to walk my talk”. I told her I would not abandon her.

“Why”, I keep asking myself did I make that one second decision to believe this story? Why didn’t I turn away and say this could be a scam? Why was I so trusting? If I turned away, and something bad happened to her, I would have been devastated. Even if there was a small percentage of probability that this was true, could I take that risk?

For those of you that have been involved in any situation in which you were lied to, betrayed, deceived, controlled, manipulated, or taken advantage of, you understand the feelings I went through-I was mad at the thief, and then mad at myself for trusting.
This was a lesson for me to be clearer of my intentions and value my time/energy, and then the universe values it just the same. The universe responds to exactly what is inside of us—everything is energy.

After the police left my home, later that evening, I did use the technique EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique to release the trauma, fear, and anger from the experience as well as to forgive myself and forgive the thief. I sent blessings to the thieves, for love and healing to fill their hearts. I released this experience to the divine and I kept my heart open. This allowed me to define my life purpose and intentions in a way that was more empowering for me.

It’s as if the situation is holding up a mirror to us and saying, “This is where we are not respecting ourselves? Where we are ripping ourselves off? Where we are undervaluing ourselves?” These questions are the gifts the thief gave to me. Uncovering the answers to those questions, allows for healing, allows for me to declare to the universe through my intentions what is acceptable to me. Once we declare that authentically, the universe provides only that to us. If a person continues to blame the situation or person and stay in victim mode, they run the risk of being taken advantage of again, until the lesson is learned. You may know people that have been taken advantage of several times, and this is the reason.

Steps to take for processing challenges:

1. Decide that you will not allow someone else to take your light away from you anymore- you will not take on the title of victim. Decide that you will not live in fear. You are much more than this current or past challenge.
Say out loud, “I intend to be in my power and decipher why this situation occurred. I intend to see the gifts this situation brought to me. I intend to see how this situation was a mirror showing me where I do not value myself. I intend to learn from this and value myself. I will create healthy boundaries of what is acceptable to me. I live through life trusting with an open heart. I intend to be me and allow my light to shine. I choose to be healed from this challenge.”
Decide that you are going to make lemonade out of the lemons. You are not going to be the lemon, you are the lemonade!
2 Meditate: Sit or lie quietly and relax. “I ask and intend to connect with the frequency of creator source.” Visualize this frequency coming into you. “I ask and intend to create a sacred space.” Breathe and relax. Set your intention, “My intention is to seek the truth of why this occurred, what was my part in it?”
Allow yourself time to process your feelings. You may want to write them down, talk to a good friend or hire a reputable person like a psychologist, counselor or certified life coach.
3 When you are ready, sit quiet, go within and ask yourself questions, such as, what was I needing when that occurred? What were my intentions? How can I create healthier intentions?
4 Write out your new intentions on a piece of paper or in your journal.
5 How have I grown because of this challenge?
6 Who do I need to forgive? Have I fully accepted the challenge? Do I need to release feelings of shame or blame?
7 Try doing the energy technique called Emotional Freedom Technique. If you need help, I’m available for telephone coaching services to help you learn EFT and process the challenge.
8 Embrace and love all parts of you, and live fully in the moment. Say, “I love and embrace all parts of myself, I am proud of who I am today.”
9 Are you ready to be grateful for the challenge? Can you see how it may have helped you be stronger within yourself? Has it helped you open your heart? Connect with others? Go in a new direction? Do something you never thought you were capable of? Learn new information and help others?

Intention:
“I ask and intend that unconditional love from creator source surround me and fill my heart and every cell in my body. I ask and intend that I’m protected. I ask and intend that this frequency of unconditional love fill every room in my home.”
I choose to live in a frequency of truth, peace, and love. I surround myself with loving and respectful people, customers, clients. I draw to me my heart’s desires. I trust. Thank you.

For The Love of Humanity, Our Environment and The Love of Animals, “One-Day”

My sister-in-law-to-be, Laurel called me over the weekend and said in an enthusiastic tone, “Laurie, my friend and I are spreading the word about eating vegan style one day a week to help the environment and we are calling it “One-Day”, this is something you may be interested in.” I replied, “Absolutely!”

I’ve been a vegetarian for a year and a half, and in that time I have learned a great deal about food and wellness. I became a vegetarian out of love and respect for animals and as I was evolving eating animal meat was not something I chose to do anymore. The idea of “One-Day” is to support our environment by reducing our carbon imprint.

The #1 way to make the biggest impact is by adopting a vegan lifestyle and purchasing food that is grown locally or at least in your own state. Local foods reduce the energy costs of getting the food from the farm to your mouth.

Paul McCartney says, “If anyone wants to save the planet, all they have to do is just stop eating meat. That’s the single most important thing you can do.”

”One-Day” is inviting you one day a week to adopt a local vegan food style, which means, consuming no meat, dairy (milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, mayo, cheese, and butter), fish or eggs-anything that comes from an animal, chicken or fish. (Helpful vegan menu choices are below)

You ask, “How is global warming connected to animal farming?”
Here are a few mind blowing facts: (from goveg.com PETA website)
• “A 2006 United Nations report found that the meat industry produces more greenhouse gases than all the SUVs, cars, trucks, planes, and ships in the world combined.2 Greenhouse gases cause global warming, which studies show will increasingly lead to catastrophic disasters—like droughts, floods, hurricanes, rising sea levels, and disease outbreaks—unless we drastically reduce the amounts emitted into the atmosphere.”
• The official handbook for the Live Earth concerts says that “refusing meat” is the “single most effective thing you can do to reduce your carbon footprint.”3
• According to Environmental Defense, if every American skipped one meal of chicken per week and substituted vegetarian foods instead, the carbon dioxide savings would be the same as taking more than a half-million cars off U.S. roads.
• The University of Chicago reports that going vegan is 50% more effective than switching to a hybrid car in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Greenhouse gas consists of roughly 82% carbon dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide, HFC’s, PFC’s, and SF. (Source: Energy Information Administration, Emissions of Greenhouse.)
There are several other issues such as farm machinery burning diesel fuel, fossil fuels to keep the barns heated, to destroying large amounts of rainforests to plant and grow feed grains and to farm the animals and let’s not forget about the problems with disposing the animal feces and the excrement contaminating our waterways.

For the love of humanity, our environment, and for animals, I have dedicated every Friday to “One-Day”.

“One-Day” Intention: Say,
“I love our planet earth! I’m choosing to help heal the earth. One day a week, I will reduce my carbon imprint by eating less animal meat. I’m focused on supplying my body with healing foods! My body is so grateful, the earth is grateful, the animals are grateful.”

Thank you for your compassion and for helping our planet! You are welcome to forward this information to all of your facebook friends, blogs, and websites, please include my name and contact information. I want to hear from you, email me and let me know how One-Day is going for you.

Big Blessings!

p.s. I’m not trying to convince you to be a vegetarian or vegan. My focus in this article is to provide you w/an effective way to help with global warming.

Here are some vegan food items that I enjoy eating: (Your city may offer vegetarian or vegan restaurants)

Breakfast: steel cut oatmeal, almond breeze with one fig, raisins, almonds and 1 apricot or two pieces of Ezekiel toast with an all fruit jelly. A glass of warm water and lemon. (I do have 1 cup of organic coffee beans with almond breeze.)
Morning snack: Green smoothie-1/2 cup blueberry’s , ½ banana, 1 piece of celery, 1 piece of kale, ½ cup of almond breeze, coconut milk or water with protein powder from rice, pea or hemp, vita mineral green powder, raw cacao nibs, and ground flax seeds.
Drink lots of water
Lunch: Hummus in a wrap with lettuce, basil, tomato with sweet potato baked fries with sea salt and cumin.
Snack: a few brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds, or a few raw cashews or sliced apple with almond butter.
Dinner: Brown rice, roasted eggplant, zucchini, garlic, herbs, topped with a little marinara sauce.
Mixed Green salad with carrots, tomato, cucumber, onion, walnuts, oil and vinegar.
Raw Cacao Dessert: Blend ½ cup raw cacao, ½ avocado, a few dates, 1 tablespoon agave nectar. Put in the refrigerator for ½ hour. Dip sliced apple and strawberry into cacao.

After reading a lot of books, research and studies, I understand how each food choice we make undeniably has a consequence on our bodies and our earth. And, in addition, once I understood the nutritional value and the physical implications, I gained a whole new level of gratitude and love for healthier choices such as organic foods, super foods, green smoothies, juicing carrots and apples and learning about enzymes, probiotics, Vitamin D and the benefits of raw whole foods. These foods energize, revitalize, and heal.

In the book, 50 Secrets of the World’s Longest Living People, it affirms that when living and eating unified with nature, the earth and our bodies, we can live past a hundred healthy and active.

Our bodies are sacred, treasured vehicles that allow us to express ourselves in this life time, just as mother earth is our precious hostess allowing us to visit here, grow, create and play. Both deserve our utmost appreciation, love, reverence and sense of presence. And, both respond accordingly to our emotions, thoughts and actions. It takes a commitment and desire to make conscious choices. You have the ability to achieve wellness, and live a peaceful and healthy life. Be patient and loving with yourself.

“Have faith in your body, faith in mother earth, they will respond accordingly to your love, kindness and commitment!”

I wish you a long, happy, healthy and prosperous life!

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” Gandhi
